Possible Applications of Webinars
“Tell me, and I will forget. Show me, and I will remember. Involve me, and I will understand.”
The above quotation sums up the real power of webinars. Because they combine audio and visual communication with the opportunity to directly engage viewers via interactive modules such as polls and live chat, webinars are used for a variety of purposes, including:
- Lead generation
- Content marketing
- Providing training for employees, agents or customers
- Sharing information with various stakeholders
- Giving periodic updates
- Offering online learning modules for GPs and medical specialists
A webinar is a form of what is classed as ‘one-to-many’ communication: it enables a presenter to reach out to an unlimited group of online viewers from a single location. In contrast, a web conference involves a smaller group of participants interacting with one another online.
Webinar.nl runs its webinar software on the RoyalCast Webcast platform. This platform is used daily by hundreds of organizations worldwide such as Shell, Heineken, SNS Reaal, Deloitte, Nyenrode Business University, Municipality of Delft, Parliament of Aruba and many others. The RoyalCast Webcast platform is ideal for broadcasts to upwards of 50 viewers simultaneously (and can cope with thousands of viewers worldwide) in combination with the use of professional audio-visual equipment. (An alternative option is to connect to existing video-conferencing equipment.)
Depending on the exact application, a webinar can also be set up to include a registration module (password-protected if desired), which allows you to precisely monitor and control who has access to the webinar. Once they have logged in, participants can follow the webinar on their PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone as usual.
