A major change causes significant consternation within any company, and KLM was no exception upon the appointment of a new CEO following the departure of Camiel Eurlings. KLM received considerable media coverage during the transitional phase, but the media reports were often factually incorrect. This resulted in a lot of uncertainty among employees.
Challenge
KLM wanted to use webinars to provide its own employees with the correct information. Personal and transparent communication – that was KLM’s objective.
Solution
For KLM, Company Webcast facilitated a webinar on location. KLM opted for the RoyalCast Internal Communication format, based on the initial plan to broadcast a single webinar.
Result
The results were overwhelming: 15,000 viewers. More than 400 questions. And even more importantly: lots of positive reactions from the employees themselves. As a result of this huge success, KLM decided to organise more webinars helped by Company Webcast, and hence webinars have become a regular feature of KLM’s internal communication activities. This communication tool now helps KLM to provide its employees with periodic updates and allows employees to enter into dialogue with the management. The broadcasts are still extremely popular within the organisation and are watched with great enthusiasm.
